NEW ALBUM
NOA
THE GIVER
AND THE SEE
The Giver and the See, my first since 2021, feels like a watershed moment in my artistic journey.
It is the first project I have created independently of Gil Dor, my longtime musical partner and dear friend. The songs, which I penned and composed, were co-written with Ruslan Sirota, who also produced the album skilfully and beautifully.
The songs on this album were being formed in the wake of the events and emotional upheaval of October 7th, 2023. They are deeply shaped by that time, in darkness and light, and by my ongoing commitment to peace and human rights.
At the same time, the songs are infused with ideas, insights, and awareness born of a personal spiritual journey that began several years ago and continues to illuminate my path.
The title, The Giver and the See, reveals something essential about the album.
The controversial phrase “from the river to the sea” was one of my most hidden and complex sources of inspiration. I have long felt the weight and pain carried within those words, and through this music I seek to gently transform them—to offer another vision of the land between the river and the sea: one rooted, as in my more than thirty years of activism, in compassion, self reflection, shared humanity, compromise, and peace.
Throughout the album, I have “planted” rivers and seas within the songs. The album itself flows like a river—carrying within it my belief that art, and the artist, are acts of giving: vessels of generosity, sources of hope in a sea of tears, small lights in the vast darkness that accompanies us from birth to death.
The word “see” in the title (it is not a mistake—I mean See) is rarely used in this way; it is a place of refuge, safety, and quiet shelter.
I humbly place this offering at your doorstep, hoping you will find value, beauty and inspiration here, between the notes and letters, and in the spirit they carry.
